Pottery
This is Yve's second year on the Granite Belt Art Trail.
Yve's love of clay started in the late 70's when she joined the Stanthorpe Pottery Club.
Yve completed a three-year part-time course in Studio Ceramics at South Brisbane TAFE and a short sculpture course whilst living in Monterey California. She enjoys all three aspects: Wheel throwing, hand-building and sculpture.
At present, her interests lie in the fragility of water etching porcelain and the excitement and unpredictability of the process of Raku firing.
Yve's Raku entry in the recent Australian National Stanthorpe Art Prize won the Local Artist Award.
Yve feels honoured and humbled that her winning Raku piece is now part of the Southern Downs Regional Art Collection.
