Collage / Mixed Media & Printing techniques
Krishna is an Aboriginal woman from the Wiradjuri nation in NSW with a family connection to Yorta Yorta people in Victoria. She lives near Girraween National Park.
Krishna has been painting with paper and acrylics for 8 years and recently branched into printmaking. Her collage work is colourful and she often paints aspects of the local environment. Krishna looks within the scenery to convey the spiritual nature of the elements of the environment. She uses design and textural aspects within a painting to emphasise and draw attention to important elements she wants viewers to notice.
Recent explorations have been in printmaking techniques such as lino printing, mokulito techniques, monoprinting and silkscreen. This has given Krishna the opportunity to expand her creative work whilst still focus on the country she lives on.
