Krishna Heffernan

Printmaking

Krishna Heffernan at Girraween Country Inn

Krishna is an Aboriginal woman from the Wiradjuri nation in NSW with family connections to Yorta Yorta people in Victoria, For the past 8 years she has lived in the Granite Belt Region. Krishna has a passion for art and has for the past 8 years been doing collage painting (painting with paper and acrylics). In the past 2 years she has branched into Lino printmaking. Her work reflects the area she lives in near Girraween National Park.

Krishna looks within the scenery to convey the spiritual nature of the elements of the environment. She is fascinated with the patterns in objects and tries to convey this in her Lino print work and collage paintings. If you want to have a go at Lino printmaking she will be running workshops on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. She will also have an exhibition of her work on display and will be happy to chat with people about how she makes her artwork.
