Join us at the Granite Belt’s
premier free art event
The countdown has begun for the Granite Belt Art & Craft Trail Open Studio Event. GBART, as we have fondly named it, is a dedication to all things creative and showcases the ever growing talent of artists and artisans who call the Granite Belt home.
You’ll discover a variety of local artisans at GBART as they exhibit at studios and galleries as well as taking up residence in community spaces. Inspired by the Small Halls Festival, we’ve also invited our beautiful small local community halls to join in the fun.
GBART will now be held as a COVID-sensitive event over one huge weekend: Friday 29 October to Sunday 31 October. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of culture, talent, history and artefacts in the region.
We just loved our first GBART experience! Visiting Rosy the watercolour artisan in her converted church was a real highlight. As were the alpaca people!
Getting out and meeting some of the artisans on the Granite Belt was a great weekend with the wife. Loved the alpaca farm and the Mongolian Gier.
I am in awe of the intentions and efforts of this team and its volunteers. To be building something of this magnitude – with an open mindedness, for the benefit and inclusion of the entire community is an incredible thing to do.
On arriving home my eldest declared that ‘today was the best day ever’ She then proceeded to create her own art trail in our dining room. Thank you to all the organisers and artisans for being willing to inspire the children also.
