Stanthorpe Pottery Club
Pottery Collective
On show will be various ways that the Potters use to create their individual styles such as wheel working, hand building, sculpture, slip casting, and press moulding.
The Potters all have their unique ways of designing and decorating their work (to show their signature style), such as texture, coloured slips, wax resist techniques, horsehair, underglazes, and underglaze transfers using mid-fire glazes as well as high-fired glazes. As well as this, there are a range of temperatures that the Potters fire at, such as 1000 degrees Celsius for raku and saggar fired work, and up to 1300 degrees Celsius for stoneware and porcelain.
The Potters taking part in this Collective Exhibition are: Linda Curtis, Jenni Gill, Lisa Golby, Yve Gray, Jooyun Lim, Di Marshall, Maryke Miller, Patena Moesker, Bruce Ward, and Dianne Whitford. During GBART, the Potters on duty will be very happy to discuss any of the work on display, explaining methods and techniques. The Potters will be demonstrating at different times the ways they use to create handbuilt pieces, sculptures, wheelwork, as well as decorating using underglazes.
