Lindsay Muir

Lindsay's ultimate goal is to bring clay to life. Like children people want to reach out and touch his work. A feast for the senses, new things revealing themselves all of the time Lindsay has affectionately become known as the "Frogman", a name he happily accepts as these endearing creatures are often found in his wildlife sculptures which also feature many other native Flora and Fauna. Lindsay started his journey with clay as a professional potter both in Australia and overseas. He continues to make pots which reflect the Australian landscape. He does this using unique techniques of mixing, throwing and forming different clays together to create series' of works such as "High Country", "Strata" and "Snow Gum" Pots. These show the colours and textures of landscape and twisted Snow Gums with their beautiful ribbons of bark showing their struggle and determination to survive. Proof that all good and wonderful things never come easy. A sentiment Lindsay reflects on when persisting with his work
