Art at Anvil Hill
Hi I’m Jason, the artist behind Art @ Anvil Hill. Little did I know 6 years ago, when I moved to the Granite Belt, just how much my art would change and evolve into what it is today. I started out perfecting handmade carbon steel fry pans which became very popular and were soon selling all over Australia.
From there, things got interesting, and ideas for quotes and poems started coming to me at all hours of the night, so I started writing them down. Having accumulated quite a number, I decided to write and publish my first quote book, ‘Only The Messenger’. Then things really took a turn. I had a dream to do two pieces of art. Having no art experience, I started researching artists and art in general. This triggered something, and a passion to create exploded inside of me.
I studied Picasso, De Kooning, Monet, Basquiat, Arthur Boyd, and many more to get some idea about art and what it was. Fast forward to now, and what was an empty packing shed is full of large, thought-provoking, and unique pieces of art in oil and acrylic, in my own ever-evolving style.
